Why I love being an Orchard Ribble Valley Wedding Photographer.

The Orchard Ribble Valley is very dear to my heart as a Lancashire and Northwest wedding photographer, simply because I have known it since before it was born!

I shot my second ever wedding at this unique venue when it was quite simply the owner's back garden! Aisling & Jack booked me to photograph their wedding back in 2019. They married at their local church in Whalley village (literally walking distance from their home) and had their reception in their field at the back of the house.

Fast forward to 2023 and Jack contacted me to tell me that he and Aisling were setting up their own wedding venue business on the land where they'd held their reception and would I be interested in becoming one of their suppliers and of course I said yes.

The Orchard Ribble Valley has many unique features as a wedding venue, ones that most definitely will not find at any other in Lancashire. The gorgeous red brick arches of Whalley Viaduct run right across the field, creating a fabulous backdrop (and shelter from any inclement weather - this is the northwest of England after all!) for your couples portraits. Whalley Abbey Gatehouse is part of the perimeter wall which is where wedding photographers can get really special in the evening using flash photography (something which I love to do in order to capture something a little bit more creative for my couples) - let's face it - who doesn't like a bit of a wow shot in their gallery? and the River Calder meanders it's way alongside the open space where the tipi is erected providing a beautiful romantic setting for more portrait photos.

The Orchard Ribble Valley is most definitely a Lancashire wedding venue on which you can put your own stamp in the same way as Ailing & Jack did for their wedding. The land lends itself to all kinds of wedding style (albeit tipi based) you can dress it up or dress it down. Go festival or go classic the choice is yours, either way you'll have plenty of space to eat, drink and be merry in.
