April showers might be a classic British tradition, but they didn’t stand a chance against the warmth and joy of Bex & Fi’s stunning spring wedding at the Shireburn Arms. While the weather outside was undeniably wet, the atmosphere inside this cosy Ribble Valley venue was nothing short of electric.

The persistent rain meant adapting the day's plans, but it only added to the romance. Instead of the traditional outdoor walk, we brought the celebration indoors, creating a spectacular indoor confetti shower right in the heart of the venue. The rustic charm of the Shireburn Arms provided the perfect, intimate backdrop for their indoor portraits, proving that you don’t need blue skies to capture breathtaking wedding memories.

The absolute highlight of the evening came during the newlyweds' first dance. As Bex and Fi took to the floor, guests let loose with giant confetti cannons, filling the room with a vibrant explosion of color. It was a brilliantly fun, high-energy moment that perfectly summed up their day—full of laughter, resilience, and pure love.

We were treated to a beautifully crisp, clear day that allowed us to make the absolute most of the stunning Ribble Valley landscape surrounding the venue. The air was fresh, the light was bright, and the weather stayed perfectly dry for us to explore the gorgeous outdoor spaces.

Exploring the Shireburn Arms: Hidden Gems for Relaxed Portraits

The beauty of a Shireburn Arms wedding is that you don’t need to hike for miles to find incredible backdrops. To keep things completely effortless and fuss-free, we slipped away for a few quiet moments just outside the venue.

First, we took a stroll down the pretty lane at the side of the venue, which offered a lovely, rustic setting for some candid, documentary-style shots. Later in the evening, as the sun began to dip, we headed into the field at the back of the Shireburn Arms. We timed it perfectly to catch the most magical golden hour portraits, capturing the newlyweds basking in the warm, spring glow without a single forced smile in sight.
