Lucy & Eliot’s Stunning Wedding at Gisburne Park Estate – Riverside Ceremony, Sail Tent Reception & Evening Photography
Dream Wedding Photography at Gisburne Park Estate
If you’re dreaming of a romantic riverside wedding with breathtaking views, natural backdrops and a sail tent that looks magical at night, Lucy and Eliot’s incredible day at Gisburne Park Estate is the perfect inspiration. From their teepee ceremony beside the river to golden-hour portraits in the meadow, fun-filled games, fire pits, drone shots and dramatic after-dark champagne spray photos, this wedding had everything that makes Gisburne Park one of North Yorkshire’s most beautiful wedding venues.
Riverside Bridal Prep at the Cottage
The morning began at the charming riverside house, tucked right beside the water. With its peaceful setting and soft natural light, it was the perfect spot for Lucy’s bridal prep. The atmosphere was relaxed but excited, with the gentle sound of the river just outside adding to the calm, intimate feel of the morning. With it's large airy rooms filled with gorgeous natural light from the huge windows, there are so many beautiful spots to hang the wedding dress and place flowers, jewelry and bridal shoes for those all important detail shots.
Romantic Teepee Ceremony Beside the River
Gisburne Park Estate is known for its idyllic outdoor ceremony area, and Lucy and Eliot held their ceremony under the teepee by the river. From the beautiful meandering path leading from the river house to the ceremony which is just perfect for capturing the bridal party arriving and when Lucy met her dad who was patiently waiting to escort her down the aisle to her waiting groom, the setting felt magical — sheltered yet still open to the surrounding woodland and flowing water. The warm light filtering through the canvas created a beautifully intimate atmosphere, perfect for capturing heartfelt moments and family and friends reactions to the "I Do's".
Bright and Beautiful Wedding Reception in the Sail Tent
The reception took place in the estate’s signature sail tent, which is a fantastic space for wedding photography. During the day, the tent filled with bright, even natural light, ideal for capturing candid moments, speeches, and décor details.
Meadow Portraits With Views of Gisburne Park manor house
After the ceremony, we wandered along the river near to the sail tent for some beautiful romantic portraits and then drove up into the meadow overlooking the manor house, where the views opened up beautifully. It’s one of the estate’s standout locations for portraits, along with the iconic gatehouse which Lucy & Eliot had expressed a wish for some of their "must have" photos to be taken by, and on this day the scenery felt even more impressive. The soft evening light was perfect — warm, flattering, and golden — giving us some truly stunning portrait photos of the newlyweds.
Games, Duck Race and Fire Pits – A Fun-Filled Celebration
Lucy and Eliot planned a day that was relaxed, joyful, and full of personality. The guests enjoyed everything from lawn games to the ever-popular duck race on the river, which had everyone laughing and cheering on their chosen competitor. As dusk settled in, the fire pits became a cosy gathering spot where guests toasted marshmallows and shared stories.
Candid Moments on the Riverside Bridges
A favourite candid moment from the day happened down by one of the little wooden bridges across the river, where the groomsmen snuck away for a quiet moment, lit their cigars, and took some selfies — a perfect mix of charm and mischief that really captured the spirit of the group.
Evening Drone Photography of the Sail Tent
As evening arrived, the sail tent transformed — softly lit and glowing against the backdrop of the valley, creating the most atmospheric setting for the night’s celebrations and as the sun dipped behind the trees and the estate settled into twilight, we sent the drone up to capture the scene from above. The sail tent looked incredible lit up in the evening, standing out beautifully against the darkening woodland and riverside. These aerial shots really show off the location at its best — the tent glowing warmly, guests mingling around the fire pits, and the river winding through the landscape.
After-Dark Champagne Spray Photos
Right at the end of the night, once the sky had turned completely dark and the party was still buzzing, Lucy and Eliot headed outside for some unforgettable after-dark champagne spray photos. With a flashlight behind them and the darkness creating a dramatic backdrop, they shook the bottles and burst into laughter as the champagne erupted into the night air. The lights caught the spray perfectly, resulting in some of the most fun, energetic, and visually striking shots of the entire wedding.

*****
"Jane photographed our wedding in August 2025 and beautifully captured the best day of our lives. She has such a creative mind and produced an exceptional quality of photos. She was flexible and not pushy with us or our guests and she got involved with rounders and marshmallow toasting which was absolutely magic.
We are extremely grateful for her spending the day with us and capturing all our special moments and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a relaxed and highly skilled wedding photographer".
